Species specificity of interspecific eavesdroppers

Frog-biting midges attack a variety of species of frogs. It is unknown, however, how species specific their interactions are. We are investigating the associations between the midges and their anuran hosts to better understand the evolutionary ecology of this guild. In addition we are developing an interaction network of frog-biting midges and frogs to examine the effect of the extent of specialization in the sensory system of the midges.
